Medax Top is an innovative and flexible growth regulator that ensures the protection of cereal crops (wheat, barley, rye, and triticale) and increases the resistance of plants to the phenomenon of fall, maximizing productivity.
Mode of action:
Medax Top increases the resistance of plants to the phenomenon of falling and leads to the avoidance of production losses.
The application window of the Medax Top growth regulator is flexible, from the beginning of the elongation of the stem, until the appearance of the standard leaf, in a temperature range of 5 ° C - 20 ° C.
BASF tests showed an average increase of 42 cm in total root length per plant, as well as an increase of up to 25% in dry root weight. Other products based on chlormequat chloride only reduce the length of the stem and increase its diameter, but Medax Top stimulates the development of the root of cereals by increasing the absorbent hairs and expanding the root system. The plant can better absorb water, nitrogen, and nutrients, has an increased tolerance to water stress, or is caused by poor soil structure, and is better resistant to attack by pathogens such as Gaeumannomyces graminis (straw breaking).
The most common form of grain fall is at the root, being the result of a long period of rainfall. In addition to the increased weight of ears and leaves, the water accumulated in the soil no longer allows a sufficient anchoring of the roots.
Unlike competing products, BASF's Medax Top limits height development strengthens the stem, and is the only growth regulator that has the effect of strengthening the root system.
Medax Top reduces the risk of falling plants, improves twinning, and helps to obtain the optimal number of ears per square meter. It is possible to avoid the spread of diseases, the increase of the grain crop, as well as the delays or the appearance of problems when preparing the germination bed.
Medax Top should not be applied to crops with a major moisture deficit in the soil, or crops with physical stress caused by puddles, drought, or other factors.
The benefits of using the Medax Top growth regulator:
- Increases plant resistance and reduces the risk of falling;
- Strengthens the root system;
- Increases the concentration of chlorophyll and ensures a uniform height of siblings;
- Ensures an increased harvest, without fallen plants which facilitate the harvest;
- Increases production and decreases harvesting or drying costs;
- It is very flexible in the application;
- It has a large application window with a long-lasting effect.
How to use it:
-Medax Top is used for cereal crops (wheat, barley, rye, and triticale) in a dose of 0.6-1 liter/ha.
-Only one treatment can be applied, during the vegetation period BBCH 30-39, respectively from the elongation of the stem to the complete formation of the standard leaf.
-It is recommended to use 100-400 liters/ha of the solution, depending on the equipment used.
Break time: not the case.
Crop | The pathogen | Dose | Application period |
Autumn wheat, autumn barley, spring barley, rye, and triticale | Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides | 0.6 - 1 litre/ha | BBCH 30-39 - from the elongation of the stem to the complete formation of the standard leaf. |
Recommendations:
- Do not use straw from Medax Top-treated crops as a growing medium for horticultural crops or as mulch.
- Do not apply Medax Top to crops that have physical stress caused by puddles, drought, or other conditions, or that have a major moisture deficit in the soil.
Compatibility:
-Medax Top is generally miscible with insecticides, fungicides, and foliar fertilizers.
-Before use, always check the compatibility of the products and perform a phytotoxicity test on restricted areas.
-It is recommended to use these mixtures in full immediately after preparation.
